1. What was the article about? Write a 30 word summary of the article.

The article was about a GIANT mudslide. The ground couldn’t take anymore water, a torrent of rocks and mud poured down! Which made a mudslide! It was burying the highway.

2. What do you think the author’s purpose for writing this article was?

I think his/her purpose was about the mudslide going into Manawatu gorge (which is a river) and builders fixing it.
