Today’s writing task involves using our imagination. You live in Niue, and one morning you look out to the water, and a strange object appears to be floating towards shore. You investigate, and to your complete disbelief, it’s a UFO, and inside, an Alien. The alien seems friendly so you spend the day showing the Alien around your home, your family, your school. In your recount, I’d like you to write about what that day would look like. What did you guys do? What did you teach them about Niue? How did the Alien react to new things? What did the Alien think about Niue?

Begin your writing here: When I arrived at Niue, I inhaled and exhaled. While breathing the beautiful air, I saw a light in the sky. I couldn’t see it properly because the sun was in my eyes. I didn’t care about the light because I thought it was a star. The light didn’t bother me AT ALL!! So I just looked around Niue with my family. After looking around, i saw the light COMING CLOSER!! I thought I was hallucinating so I rubbed my eyes. After rubbing my eyes, i saw flames surrounding the light! I was about to tell my family about it but as i turned around, MY FAMILY WASN’T THERE!!! In Fact NO ONE WAS THERE. I was looking around to find someone but NOBODY was there! I panicked A LOT!! I looked around to find a hiding spot. I saw a thick tree, and so i thought “why not go hide behind that tree?”. As i ran to the tree the light landed. When the “light” landed, smoke was surrounding AN ALIEN SPACESHIP!! I couldn’t believe my eyes!! When the spaceship landed, the alien looked around and then went up to a coconut tree. As the alien went up to the coconut tree, I ran to one of the supermarkets, FINDING A GROUP OF PEOPLE!!!  As i ran out the alien kicked the tree and 7 coconuts hit his or her head. When the alien opened the coconut, he or she got an umbrella and a straw. The alien also got a beach chair, sunscreen and a flower lei necklace FROM ITS HANDBAG!!! That was when I noticed the alien was a GIRL!!!  It looked like she was having a vacation so i was like “why not?”. As I joined her she looked at me then looked back at the BEAUTIFUL sunset. I was amazed while I was looking at the sunset. I sat on the sand and made a sandcastle while looking at the sunset. The end
